Visiting Shooters pay $3.00 when signing in for an organized event, and are covered for the duration of the event.
Membership Application Form
To comply with the requirements of the Shooting Ranges Regulations under the Firearms Act, the Club has to collect and keep certain information regarding members, guests of members, and Club Executive. Not all required information was collected in the past, but is necessary for the Range to remain 'Approved'. The Membership Application Form was introduced to resolve this issue. The Application Form has to be filled out and signed before Membership Cards and keys are issued to you. Remember, that by signing the Application Form, you are also acknowledging that you have read and understand the Range Rules and Protocols stated on the back. The Future
The Range is the core of the Club. Although the Range has been in operation since 1970, its future is not assured and should not be taken for granted by the members. Each year brings additional pressures and challenges that must be met to ensure you have a place to pursue your chosen shooting sports. The business of running the Club has increased proportionally with increase in membership and number of shooters and organized events. The few members and executive that have looked after Range operations and Club administration have reached the limit of what time and effort they can afford to donate. Without active participation by more members, the Club may have to consider more paid positions, similar to the current maintenance contract.
Outside pressures experienced by other clubs are now coming to bear on our Club and Range. Noise complaints have been filed, environmental issues may be surfacing, and lease conditions and rental fees are uncertain. We may be forced into such measures as limiting Range operating hours, having supervised use only, reducing the number of organized events, and limiting the number of members each year. Your thoughts on these issues can be brought up at one of the meetings, or e-mail your comments to rgc@rockygunclub.com
