General

No.

To access the range, you must become a member or be an invited guest.

  • Have you completed your safety test for the current year?  If no, you will need to complete it online and wait up to 72h for activation.
  • Is it earlier than 8:45am?  Cards will not work before this time.  Do not call before 08:45
  • For all other issues, call the number posted on the gate.
  • If you a new member, contact member.services@rockygunclub.com.  We will put you in touch with a Range Safety Officer who will coach you through the problem.  After the RSO signs off, you will have another chance to pass the test.
  • If you a renewing member, contact member.services@rockygunclub.com.  Your test will be reset, but you have to pass the full version of the test instead of the annual refresher.

No.  Please check the video on our home page and the various range pages for detailed facility information. 

Lost cards must be promptly reported to member.services@rockygunclub.com and replacements may ordered on our online merchandise store.

Firearm Ranges

Ranges are  typically open from 09:00-20:00 everyday.  During the winter, they may open later and close earlier.  Check the front page of the website for today’s shooting hours.

Detailed firearm and cartridge information is available in our Rulebook or on each Range Page.

Steel core, steel jacket, tracer, combustible, igniting, or explosive materials are not permitted. 

No.  There are no firearms stored onsite.

Archery Ranges

No.

A reduced-rate membership is available for the archery range and archery trail.

Yes. Crossbows are permitted on the archery range and the 3D trail.

No.  Broadheads are prohibited on all RRGC targets with the exception of one cube-style target in the Range H shelter.  You may use broadheads on personal targets.

Holsters

Yes.

Holster use is permitted if a member has taken approved training and been issued an ID badge with holster endorsement.  Guests need prior permission from the Safety Director.

No.

Firearms may only be loaded on the firing line and on the command of a Range Officer. 

Targets

 Acceptable:

  • must be soft paper based
  • must be affixed to our RGGC supplied target backers
  • may be human silhouette in nature such as IPSC target zombies or humanoid monsters
  • steel reactive targets from reputable manufacture on D,E,F,G

Unacceptable:

  • photographs or likeness of actual persons whether living or dead
  • vegetables, fruits, explosive targets
  • no range structures, ground baffles, or target board uprights

Guests

Yes.

Each member may host up to two guests at a time.  Guest passes may be purchased online.

Yes.

Each member may host up to two guests at a time.  Youth Guest passes may be obtained online.

Shotgun Fields

No! All that is needed is a target card. Show up anytime during club hours and enjoy.

The club has random days where someone is available to step you through how everything works but not required. Watch for dates in the calendar. An Operational Guide is available to read and download.

Clay cards are available for purchase at Fountain Tire or online.

When the card is empty it can be dropped in the steel grey box at Range A . DO NOT RETURN TO FOUNTAIN TIRE.

Any shotgun will work. Preference given to 12-gauge double barrel or semi-auto with interchangeable chokes.

Most clubs have a restriction that the barrel length minimum is twenty-six inches. Currently this is not enforced but use discretion when shooting with others.

Yes, however all shooting and targets must be directed to the North and West.
