Is RRGC accepting new members?
Yes, RRGC is accepting new members. Memberships are valid for the calendar year January 1- December 31. If you would like to become a member, visit our membership page to find out how.
Can I get a day pass just to sight in my gun?
No, RRGC is a private members club. To access the range, you must hold a membership or be an invited guest.
How much does a membership cost?
The cost of a membership depends on whether you are buying a primary or family membership. New and renewal prices and instructions on purchasing can be found on the membership page.
How long do I have to wait for my membership to be active after purchase?
Allow 14 days for your gate access to be activated after membership approval.
Where do I pick up my membership badge/gate access card?
Renewing members will use the identification they previously received. If you need to reaplce your current membership ID, contact member.services@rockygunclub.com. New members will receive their Identification documents when they attend the mandatory range orientation.
How are family memberships defined?
Family meaning refers to the head of household who is 18 years or older plus a spouse or partner and any children under 18 that reside in the same household. There are no limitations on the number of children listed. Grandchildren (under 18) can also be included in the family membership (grandchildren do not have to reside with the family).
Is the membership pro-rated if I purchase my membership part way through the year?
No. We do not offer discounted rates.
May I add additional persons on my membership part way through the year?
No. You must specify all your additional persons at the time of purchase.
Is it possible to get a tour of the club prior to purchasing a membership?
Unfortunately, no but check the website for informative YouTube videos.
I am at the gate and did not bring my card or my card does not activate the gate. Is it possible to call someone to access the gate?
Call the club (number is on the gate) for assistance.
I have been asked to open the gate for another member who is unable to open the gate. Should I open the gate? They have a membership tag.
Absolutely not. It is the responsibility of that member to go through correct channels to get an access code. (Tags have been given for many years, maybe they did not pay for a new membership, maybe they have been suspended or have no valid PAL).
Opening the gate for another person puts “YOUR” membership in jeopardy.
I lost my access card. How do I get a replacement?
It is your responsibility to report your lost access card to member.services@rockygunclub.com so they can deactivate that card. The cost of a replacement card is $30.
Firearm Ranges
What are the firearm range hours?
RRGC Ranges are open seven days a week throughout the year. Shooting may commence at 9AM and must cease at 8PM or sunset which comes first. Also refer to the calendar as there will be activities that do close ranges periodically.
What firearms am I able to use on the different ranges?
Posted on this website and at each range are the template groups as certified by the CFO.
What ammunition is not permitted?
Steel core, steel jacket, tracer, combustible, igniting, or explosive materials are not permitted.
Archery
Do I need to purchase a full range membership if I only want to access to the Archery range?
Yes, range memberships must be purchased to gain access to the main gate.
What are the archery range hours?
The archery range hours are from 9 AM to 8 PM or sunset, the same as the firing range.
Is crossbow use permitted?
Yes, crossbow use is permitted on the archery range and the 3D trail.
Is broadhead use permitted?
Using broadheads are strictly prohibited on all RRGC targets and any use of broadheads will result in having your membership immediately revoked. There is a cube type in the shelter for your use or bring your own targets.
Holsters
Is holster use permitted on RRGC Ranges?
Yes, holster use is permitted, however the member must have completed a Handgun Marksmanship Course or equivalency and have this card displayed in your pouch. If you have Holster certification from another range contact the club to ensure that it is acknowledged by RRGC.
Can my handgun be loaded in my holster?
The firearm may only be loaded when you are at the firing line. You are NOT permitted to have your handgun loaded as you move around the facility.
Targets
What types of Targets can I use?
Acceptable:
- must be soft paper based
- must be affixed to our RGGC supplied target backers
- may be human silhouette in nature such as IPSC target zombies or humanoid monsters
- steel reactive targets from reputable manufacture on D,E,F,G
Unacceptable:
- photographs or likeness of actual persons whether living or dead
- vegetables, fruits, explosive targets
- no range structures, ground baffles, or target board uprights
Guests
Can I bring an ADULT guest to the range?
Yes, it is permitted to host guests with the purchase of a guest pass. Guest passes (YELLOW) are available in Range A at the sign In area, and you (the member) must follow the appropriate instructions posted. Please look on the website for further information on your role when you are bringing a guest to the range. A member may only invite two (2) guests during one (1) visit.
Can I bring a CHILD guest to the range?
Yes, it is permitted to host children as guests. CHILD PASSES (BLUE) are available in Range A at the sign In area, and you (the member) must follow the appropriate instructions posted. Please look on the website for further information on your role when you are bringing a child to the range.
Shotgun
What type of shot is allowed?
#7.5 to #9. Nothing larger than #7.5
Do I need an orientation to use the 5 Stand, Trap or Skeet?
No! All that is needed is a target card. Show up anytime during club hours and enjoy.
The club has random days where someone is available to step you through how everything works but not required. Watch for dates in the calendar. An Operational Guide is available to read and download.
Where can I purchase Clay Cards and how much are they?
Clay cards are available for purchase at Fountain Tire. Current pricing is $75 for 250 targets, $150 for 500 targets.
When the card is empty it can be dropped in the guest cash box at Range A . DO NOT RETURN TO FOUNTAIN TIRE.
What firearms can be used?
Any shotgun will work. Preference given to 12-gauge double barrel or semi-auto with interchangeable chokes.
Most clubs have a restriction that the barrel length minimum is twenty-six inches. Currently this is not enforced but use discretion when shooting with others.
Can I bring my own thrower and targets?
Yes, however all shooting and targets must be directed to the North and West.
