For all practical purposes, Range Safety Officers have the same authority and duty as any member of the Club:
- The authority to confirm membership of any person found on the property (Rule 3)
- The duty to call a ceasefire for any unsafe condition (Rule 17)
- The duty to point out any procedure or rule violation in a respectful manner (Rule 6)
- The duty to report safety incidents and rule violations to the Board of Directors (Rule 14.2)
What sets RSOs apart is they volunteer to proactively inspect our ranges and advocate for safety. They also meet to discuss the practical application of Club policies and provide recommendations to the Board of Directors.
Range Safety Officers are identified on the range by special ID cards and on the website forum with a SAFETY COMMITTEE label under their name. Please assist them in their duties and use them as a resource.
